A BRIEF HISTORY OF OUR FAMILY’S 50 YEARS IN PACKAGING
ACE PACKAGING CONTAINERS Pty Ltd is an established family business that has provided Melbourne with quality packaging and fantastic service for over 50 years.
Ace Packaging was started by David Langdon Snr in the early 1960’s in the inner city location of Richmond a suburb he had become mayor of and had raised his family with wife Edith. David Snr and David Jnr started the business in the early 60’s and were then joined by Philip in the mid 60’s where they worked together for several years and created a successful and respectable name in the packaging industry being very successful with tea chests and eventually cardboard boxes. When David Snr retired he past the business down to his sons. As the Langdon family’s business grew the brothers decided to diversify and obtained several storage facilities under the identity of Storage King. With Philip managing Ace packaging it become one of Melbourne’s well known packaging names.
In 1999 Philips son Nick joined the family business and to this day is still alongside his father helping run the day to day operations of Ace Pack & Cartons galore and the new Custom Boxes Australia.
In 2016 Philip and son Nicholas decided there was a growing need for short run custom boxes for small businesses so they started Custom Boxes Australia, together they sourced and purchased box making machinery from overseas to enable them to make their own boxes and services for their customers with whatever quantities and sizes needed. Phillip and Nick continue to grow the business and hope for many years to come the Langdon family will be servicing their customers with the highest quality of packaging requirements whilst earning a name in the manufacturing of cardboard boxes.
